Paul Mitchell
Paul drives the delivery of the Federation’s Employment Affairs offering, providing direct support to Members across a wide range of HR related issues from dispute resolution cases involving disciplinary and grievance processes to redundancy consultations and organisational restructuring.
As the Chair of the SBF Employment Affairs Committee, Paul has a strategic role in the development of people practices and solutions which address the prevailing trends and challenges experienced across the industry.
An HR graduate and Member of the Charter Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Paul joined SBF in 2010 and has a passion for training and apprenticeships which he takes forward through his role as the Registrar with the Scottish Building Apprenticeship and Training Council (SBATC) in addition to representing SBF on a number of external bodies including the SAAB Standards and Frameworks Group and the CITB Prescribed Organisations committee. Paul enjoys mentoring HR professionals as they enter the construction industry as well as supporting SME’s who do not have an internal HR specialism, building relationships and trust which allow for honest conversations and accurate advice.
