The Scottish Building Federation’s annual golf outing was held on Thursday 4 September 2025 on the Burnside course in Carnoustie with 40 players competing for the SBF Past Presidents golf quaich on a beautiful late summer’s day.     

After a fortifying coffee and roll in the Rookery restaurant, the Stableford competition got underway and was closely fought in strong sunshine and on picturesque fairways from mid to late morning until the afternoon.

Following a hearty meal in the Rookery restaurant on return, the winners were announced. They were; Outright Winner and 2025 Holder of the Past President Plaque: Jack Smith of Smith Brothers of Beith Ltd. In 2nd Place was James Robertson of JM Henry. In 3rd place, ably defending his win of last year, was Graham Kelly of Thomas Johnstone Limited.

The SBF Board meeting also took place in the same venue before the golf started and this approach ensured that Members were able to chat with the Directors, raising their concerns and issues, throughout the day.
