Lobbying and Advocacy: listening carefully to the concerns of Members, SBF speaks with a united voice to the Scottish and UK Governments to advance Member interests in crucial areas such as craft apprenticeships, training, procurement, health and safety, planning, infrastructure investment, housing, environment and employment.
Representation: SBF is a key contributor to a number of affiliated industry bodies including the CIJC Working Rule Agreement, People’s Partnership, the Scottish Building Contracts Committee (SBCC), Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) and the Construction Industry Collective Voice (CICV).
CITB Prescribed Organisation: SBF is one of only three distinctively Scottish federations who are periodically guaranteed a vote on the future of the CITB levy system as part of the consensus process.
Promotion of Construction: SBF champions the industry’s interests through media interaction and actively raises awareness of the positive economic and social contributions that the sector makes to Scottish society.
