Ross joined the Scottish Building federation in April 2025 to take up the part time role of Technical and Commercial Manager. This is after a career as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with various contractors, and latterly, 28 years’ service with award winning St Andrews housebuilder Headon Developments. Starting as Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, Ross was appointed a director of two companies within the Headon group in 2003, positions which he held until leaving for the move to SBF

He assists member companies with technical and contractual matters and contributes to various groups including the Construction Industry Collective Voice, Construction Accord and the Construction Quality Improvement Collaborative. He has also been appointed as a Director of the Scottish Building Contract Committee which adapts JCT contracts to comply with Scottish law and practice.
